The Energy Wars: Book GiveawayAUTHOR INTERVIEW
Question: What inspired you to create the concept of energy as invisible fireballs that affect people’s emotions and actions?
Answer: Energy is the basis of all things – an unseen phenomenon. I wanted to create a visual for how the unseen works. To show that our “energy” does affect everything around us (even plants).
Question: Why did you choose middle school as the setting for this story?
Answer: My writing seems to follow the aging of my children, who are now teenagers. I hear the conversations of my 13-year-old son and his friends. The book is their voices in my head.
Question: The book touches on the scientific ideas of energy fields and emotional impact. How much research did you do, and what sources influenced these aspects of the story?
Answer: I have been studying energy my entire life. The concept of energy fascinates me, the origin of all things. In book 2 I bring more into it!
Question: Myles is a highly relatable protagonist with a mix of courage and uncertainty. Was he based on someone you know or a personal experience?
Answer: Myles was inspired by watching three children grow into teenagers and witnessing them navigating the social world, as well as my own experience at that age.
Question: Sally’s confidence and resilience play a big role in the story. Can you talk about why her character was so important to Myles’ journey?
Answer: Sally is the balance to the insecure, a mirror for Myles reflect off of. I also wanted to show how self-love is from within and how a person like that sees the world.
Question: The themes of kindness and awareness of energy are strong in the book. What lessons do you hope young readers will take away from Myles’ story?
Answer: My goal is self-awareness, that we can “manage” our vibration (which is essentially how we feel). When a person learns this power, it becomes a superpower. When you can manage your state of being, happiness is only a thought away.
Question: The book ends with a sense of discovery and potential. What can readers expect in the next installment of the Energy Wars series?
Answer: Book 2 is an exciting superhero story with conflict and unexpected twists and turns! Myles’s superpower evolves and his powers become actionable!
