make a thanksgiving soap

Fall-inspired bath

Try this perfect homemade soap that’s great for hydrating your skin because it’s made with creamy goat’s milk. I’ve called it Harvest Glow Soap.

Goat’s milk is famous for replenishing dry skin — ideal for chilly, post-Thanksgiving days — while cinnamon has long symbolized warmth, prosperity, and protection. In ancient traditions, it was thought to ignite inner vitality and attract good fortune.

Makes: about 6 bars
Prep time: 20 minutes  Cure time: 24 hours

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Cut & melt: Cube the goat’s-milk base and melt it gently in a microwave-safe bowl (30-second bursts, stirring each time) or use a double boiler.
  2. Blend: Stir in honey, cinnamon, and optional spice. Mix well until smooth.
  3. Scent & swirl: Add essential oil and a pinch of mica or cocoa. For marbling, pour part of the mix separately, darken it, then drizzle and swirl it back in.
  4. Pour & set: Pour into molds, tap to release air bubbles, and let cool for 4–6 hours (or overnight).
  5. Unmold & wrap: Pop out the bars, wrap in parchment, and tie with twine or ribbon.
