MY REVIEW

Magic in the Mountains: A Christmas Trilogy is a cozy, high-stakes holiday adventure that follows brothers Alex and Noah James—two ordinary kids suddenly swept into an extraordinary mission. The series unfolds across three books: A Christmas Adventure, The Jewel of the Yeti, and The Curse of the Crystal.

What begins as a carefree snowboarding holiday shifts into a race to save Christmas after a mysterious crystal Noah found reveals its true power: it can open portals, including one straight to the North Pole. Santa has been captured, strange disturbances are shaking the Pole, and whispers of a dark mastermind grow louder. Along the way, everyone starts calling Alex and Noah the sons of the crystal, hinting at a destiny they’re only beginning to understand. With yetis, gnomes, talking animals, and other fantastical allies by their side, the brothers plunge into a mystery where the magic of Christmas is in real danger—and they may be the only ones who can protect it.

I thought this trilogy was fast-paced, exciting, and perfect for kids who love Christmas stories filled with adventure, mystery, danger, and just the right amount of sparkle. There’s even an official activity book for ages 7–12, packed with over 100 mazes, puzzles, coloring pages, cryptograms, and crystal challenges, available at temilburn.com. Whether for shared family reading or independent chapter-book fans, this series is a magical holiday pick that feels like stepping straight into the season.
