I went for brunch with a couple of friends on Sunday to a restaurant in Brooklyn called Five Leaves. Apparently Heath Ledger designed this bar + it’s funded by his estate. The address is 18 Bedford Avenue, Brooklyn, New York. You should definitely stop by if you’re in the mood for Bloody Mary’s ($9) or their signature drink, hot buttered rum ($12). Their number is 718.383.5345.
Two South African Fashion Designers recently showcased their skills in New York at the 8th edition of the Fashion Week Brooklyn. This participation was made possible by the “Yebo Msanzi” – an exchange program between MyArts International, a South African-based MICE Company, and the Brooklyn Style Foundation, organizers of the show.
Presented by the BK Style Foundation, Fashion Week Brooklyn is the borough’s longest-running collection show, providing a platform for emerging and established designers based in Brooklyn and around the world. FWB features men’s, women’s, children’s, eco-friendly, accessory, RTW, pet couture, bridal and couture collections. For more information please visit www.fashionweekbrooklyn.com
I was recently approached to be the ambassador of a very exciting cause which I’m so thrilled about. Brooklyn Fashion Week and the Brooklyn Style Foundation in collaboration with MyArts International have asked me to work with them on a stunning new campaign in South Africa – a program which will see lucky fashion designers & fashion models selected to showcase their work at the Brooklyn Fashion Week in New York!
This weekend I attended a fabulous fashion event in Brooklyn called Art Meets Fashion, which was an awesome evening held at Industry City, Sunset Park, Brooklyn. AMF is an International exhibit which includes fashion influenced artwork, sculpture and video installations created by 40+ artists from NYC, Brazil, Italy, Africa, Hong Kong and Spain.
