The White House is a 2 minute walk from where I stayed when recently in Washington. Needless to say, this is an iconic site. It’s perfect for couples, friends, or the whole family to do when visiting Washington.
Lafayette Square is a seven-acre (30,000 m²) public park located within President’s Park, Washington, D.C. directly north of the White House on H Street, bounded by Jackson Place on the west, Madison Place on the east, and Pennsylvania Avenue.
My Suggestions
Spoil yourself with a meal at Joe’s Seafood, Prime Steak & Stone Crab Restaurant right next door.
Have a cocktail at nearby at Hotel Washington’s Rooftop POV bar.
Have a meal nearby at the oldest restaurant in Washington, Old Ebbitt Grill.
