Sometimes, life offers you a front-row seat to greatness. That’s exactly how I felt when I had the pleasure of being invited to attend a performance conducted by the legendary Andrés Orozco-Estrada during his time as Music Director of the Houston Symphony.

If you ever get the chance to hear him conduct, consider it a sign to go. His music doesn’t just play—it resonates, leaving you inspired long after the final bow.

THE LANCASTER HOTEL

Adding to the charm of the evening was my stay at The Lancaster Hotel, a historic gem located in the heart of Houston’s Theater District. Just a short walk from the music hall, it’s the perfect place to stay if you’re planning to catch a performance or explore the city’s cultural scene.

The Lancaster has a rich history—it’s Houston’s oldest continually operating hotel, a landmark that’s been welcoming guests since 1926. Nestled among the city’s finest theaters, it offers a luxurious yet cozy atmosphere, complete with impeccable service and an art-filled interior that celebrates Houston’s vibrant arts community.
