🦃 Holiday games • 🍂 Cozy traditions • 🎲 Family fun • 📍 Thanksgiving at home
If you’re hosting Thanksgiving this year and want to keep everyone entertained between courses, here are some easy, low-prep games that work for families, friends, and mixed-age gatherings. Check out my other posts on Thanksgiving ideas here.
Turkey Trivia Bowl
Create a short list of trivia questions about Thanksgiving history, odd food facts, or holiday pop culture. Give everyone paper to write down answers. The winner gets first choice of dessert or the honor of carving the pie.
Gratitude Grab
Fill a bowl with simple prompts such as “a smell you love,” “a childhood memory,” or “a tiny joy from this year.” Each person draws one and shares. It’s quick, meaningful, and often leads to warm storytelling without feeling forced.
Blindfold Pumpkin Drawing
Hand out paper and pens, blindfold each guest, and give them twenty seconds to draw a pumpkin. The results are chaotic, ridiculous, and guaranteed to make everyone laugh. It’s especially good for breaking the post-meal slump.
Mystery Item Bag
Fill a bag with seasonal or household items—pinecones, cinnamon sticks, corn husks, a toy, a kitchen utensil—and let guests guess each item by touch alone. Kids take this very seriously; adults usually end up more competitive than expected.
