Just about 30 minutes north of Houston is Old Town Spring, a historic Texas town that began as a railway settlement. Today it’s filled with antique shops, candle stores, cafés, and boutiques that look especially festive once the Christmas lights switch on. This year, the holiday glow begins on Saturday, November 22 at 5 p.m., kicking off the season. The town is known for its restored Victorian storefronts and long-running local festivals. Around 62,559 people live in the Spring area, and from November 22 onward the holiday crowds begin to arrive. It’s a lively, cheerful place to shop, wander, and soak in the season. For an overnight stay, check into the Wunsche Bros. Hotel & Saloon, a historic landmark that opened in 1902 and still carries its early-Texas charm. Old Town Spring feels tailor-made for Christmas: garlands, glowing lanterns, narrow streets, and a touch of mystery after dusk. It’s close, cosy, and just different enough to make a quick holiday trip feel like a small adventure.
