💡 Lakefront lights • ☕ Hot cocoa swirl • 🎶 Holiday-night magic
If you’re looking for something magical to do in Austin this season, I highly recommend the Mozart’s Lake Austin Festival of Lights — it’s one of the city’s most iconic holiday traditions, and honestly, it just keeps getting better every year.

This lakeside light show runs from late November through early January, filling the waterfront with twinkling displays, festive music, hot chocolate stands, and a cozy Christmas-village atmosphere. The shows typically run in the evenings — around 7, 8, 9, and 10 PM — and you can wander, sip, snack, and take as many photos as your holiday heart desires. They’re closed only on Thanksgiving and Christmas Day.

What I love most is how accessible it is. General admission is just a few dollars per person, and if you want something a little more special, you can reserve a table overlooking the lake for a small upgrade. There are also fun add-ons like short boat cruises, donut boats for groups, and even private igloo-style huts right on the water if you’re going big this year. Everything is straightforward and easy to book — no complicated tiers or confusing ticket structures.
It’s festive, it’s affordable, and it’s one of the most photogenic holiday outings in Austin. If you want twinkling lights, lakeside views, and a little holiday sparkle, Mozart’s is the place to be.
