Forget squeezing another attraction into your itinerary. One of 2026’s growing travel trends involves doing something considerably simpler: staying on a farm. Known as farmcations, these countryside getaways are becoming increasingly popular with travelers looking for fresh air, local food and a slower pace.

And the numbers are interesting. Recent travel research found that interest in staying on or near a farm has jumped 84% year over year, while guest reviews mentioning farm experiences have increased by 300%.
But this isn’t necessarily roughing it in a barn.
Modern farm stays can include beautiful cottages, luxury cabins, vineyards, ranches and glamping tents, often surrounded by spectacular countryside. Depending on where you stay, you might collect eggs in the morning, pick vegetables, meet farm animals, learn beekeeping, go horseback riding or eat food grown just a few feet from your accommodation.
