Competitions
On The Streets of Lisbon
So I was very stoked to hear that “The Starlit Path” was selected by Travel Start SA as one of the most underrated travel blogs of last month 🙂 I am personally a huge fan of www.travelstart.co.za , so I was absolutely delighted when I heard this news!
What’s also really exciting is that they’re currently running a competition for travel bloggers for 2 free flight tickets! Using only 300-1000 words to tell a story about a personal travel experience, here is my entry:
MC’ing “Diner on the Wharf” at V&A’s Market on the Wharf
This friday night I’m MC’ing the event “Diner on the Wharf” at the V&A Waterfront’s Market on the Wharf. I’m super excited about this event, which is definitely going to be an amazing night of fun. With a three course meal, wine provided by Spier wine estate, a talk by senior winemaker at Spier Johan Jordaan and stunning prize giveaways, things will be very festive from 7pm. The cost is R200 per person, and you can book through “Go4Ward” Marketing & Events Company. To book, e-mail events@go4word.co.za or contact them via the event’s facebook page. You can find the Market on the Wharf building along the waterfront right next to the Aquarium.
Rotary West’s Medieval Festival
Skybok recently covered events for Rotary PE West as part of their “Medieval Festival”. It’s a whole weekend of festivities themed around the Middle Ages and it’s hosted at Victoria Park in Port Elizabeth. Their “Royal Banquet” is on a Friday night where everyone arrives dressed up in costumes from the Middle Ages. There’s a dinner and lots of entertainment. During the Saturday, they host an entire day filled with arts, crafts and activities that people during those times used to play! Together with my brother, I filmed and photographed these events for them. I spent about two days editing and adding music and I am so excited about the final result! It was such a festive evening and day and we managed to capture the spirit and ambiance into two easy 2 minute video profiles. See both videos below. To watch in the best quality be sure to change the viewing settings to 1080 p HD (click on the cog in the toolbar at the bottom of the video as it plays).
