What a pleasure to shoot this! Located by the seaside in stunning Port Elizabeth, South Africa, the Humewood golf course is a genuine seaside Links, ranked as one of South Africa’s top 20 golf courses and boasts as holding the prestige of being the only true links course in Africa. Sadly, I don’t play golf. But after shooting their video profile, I think I should definitely give it a try! Humewood golf course has one of the world’s most difficult links courses and has hosted the South African open 5 times and the African Amateur 10 times, being ranked the number 10 golf course in South Africa. There have been some famous names which have graced the greens and fairways of this course, including Denis Watson, Tony Johnstone and Ernie Els amongst others. I especially liked their gorgeous clubhouse.
With animal life being common around the course, tourists and locals alike get the feeling of being in nature as they may pass a glance at monkeys or at one of the many plovers, or ‘kiewetjies’ as they are known to South Africans. In fact the club’s emblem sports the image of this bird, said by some to bring good luck to your game. The club is well-respected for its hosting of prestigious tournaments, such as the Goodyear Classic from 1984-1992. For more information, check out their website by clicking HERE.
