Filming The Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in Port Elizabeth for Skybok

Skybok recently filmed the stadium in Port Elizabeth. It’s nicknamed “the sunflower” because of the design of the roof. It’s about 40m high and is made up of six levels. A 48 000 seater stadium in Port Elizabeth, South Africa, it was built as part of a country-wide initiative to build world-class stadiums in preparation for the 2010 FIFA Soccer World Cup. It’s situated at 70 Prince Alfred road, North End. It’s at the heart of the city, overlooking the North End lake. We got to shoot everything, even the locker rooms and the huge-ass jacuzzis. It regularly hosts large scale football and rugby matches, but it has also been used as a concert venue. And did you know that it was the first stadium in the country to be completed? Awesome! Shooting this was a dream and we had a lot of fun. Take a look at the video (above) and see for yourself how gorgeous it is.
