I had an awesome day at the United Nations Headquarters in New York! Did you know their budget is $5.5 billion annually? The US pays 22% towards this every year, while other nations pay less as a “membership fee” depending on their country’s wealth. I got to see the room where Emma Watson delivered her speech on women’s rights, as well as where Malala Yousafzai received her Nobel Peace Prize. I really enjoyed looking at the gifts that member countries have given to the UN, such as the gift below from Malaysia.
