Boschendal wine farm is a picturesque 300 year old farm in the Franschhoek Valley known for its award-winning wines & farm-to-table cuisine. It was founded in 1685. It’s by far one of the most popular farms in the Western Cape.

See its restaurants here.

It also offers an array of activities – including cellar tours, vineyard tours, mountain bike trails, horse & carriage rides, a farm shop & deli, as well as lovely gardens for picnics. Click here for more information on opening times & booking links.

The Cape colony has its roots as a refreshment station; a welcoming stop for weary travellers where food, wine and hospitality were never in short supply. Similarly, the Cape Dutch farms that fanned outwards from the harbour at Table Bay offered some of the finest hospitality in the land, and the ‘Cape table’ was always laden with fresh farm produce and delicious local cuisine. On Boschendal today little has changed, with the restaurants offering an array of authentic culinary experiences.
