About
The Alamo Mission in San Antonio, commonly called the Alamo, was originally known as “Misión San Antonio de Valero”. It’s part of the San Antonio Missions World Heritage Site in San Antonio, Texas, United States. (Did you know that San Antonio is the USA’s 7th largest city??)
As the defenders saw it, the Alamo was the key to the defense of Texas during the Texas Revolution, and they were ready to give their lives rather than surrender their position to General Santa Anna! Among the Alamo’s garrison were Jim Bowie, renowned knife fighter, and David Crockett, famed frontiersman and former congressman from Tennessee.
