 About

The JW Marriott Camelback Inn Resort + Spa is situated on 125 acres in the gorgeous Sonoran Desert. Known for their elegantly appointed private casita rooms, their full-service spa, two championship golf courses + exceptional on-site dining, they also offer a heated outdoor pool. The hotel was ranked by Conde Nast as one of the top 25 resorts in the Southwest. It is also a proud member of the TripAdvisor Hall of Fame! Some luxury suites feature private pools, while many provide striking views of Paradise Valley.

Where?

Phoenix, Arizona.

My Opinion

A typical casita room is very big! The bathroom is huge, with a massive shower + gold finishes. If you’re looking for cupboard + drawer space, this is a great room. A private patio area is a nice touch for those humid desert nights overlooking the saguaro cacti and the moonlight against a backdrop of huge Arizonian mountains. Great garden view! I was amused with all the quails + the other bird life out there.

I had a sound sleep in a great bed, the staff were very attentive (I booked a lot of stuff over the phone) and I loved the FLOWERS all over the resort. They complimented the wild natural landscape + the Native American decor.  A little birdie told me Mr Marriott himself vacations at this spot each year for his birthday, out of all his destinations in the world.

The food menu had some great nibbles for sundowners – I recommend the pizza. Beside a live musician who plays there every evening during happy hour, what a festive space the hotel has created! The water feature is central to the restaurant for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Take a look at the breakfast options here (they offer white omelettes which are superb!) The moody bar inside has a charming fireplace + is a great place to wind down with their signature cocktail.

Day Excursions/Activities

They offer bike rentals, a pitch and putt course and a Jackrabbit Pool complex, which offers private cabanas and a casual pool bar. They offer a beautiful spa on site – read more here.

Bulbs make for a very romantic feel at night beside fresh flowers, palm trees + flowing water. This is a great party space!
