Happy Bluebird of Happiness Day!

A while back I stumbled across a little-known holiday: Bluebird of Happiness Day. It happens every year on September 24th (today). It’s a gentle nudge to pause and notice joy where it shows up.

Its origins are a little hazy, but the “bluebird of happiness” has long been a symbol of hope, cheer, and the promise of better things ahead. Folk songs, poems, and even theater productions have carried the image of the bluebird as a messenger of joy across cultures and generations. Over time, the idea crystallized into a day on the calendar—a reminder to seek out those fleeting, feather-light moments of happiness in our everyday lives.

In honor of Bluebird of Happiness Day and the holiday I first heard about it, here are some ways to let those little bluebirds of joy flutter into your life:
