MY REVIEW

Santa’s 18-Wheel Chrome-and-Steel Sleigh is what happens when classic Christmas magic meets the year 2025. When the reindeer come down with the flu and Rudolph’s light starts to fade, Santa doesn’t hang up his hat — he jumps into an eighteen-wheeler and takes Christmas on the road. It’s a clever, funny twist on a holiday favorite, packed with imagination, rhythm, and heart. J. Brandon Boron’s rhymes roll like a song on the open highway, while Shaun Ivie’s illustrations bring the story to life with bold color and motion. My favorite image shows the truck soaring over the Eiffel Tower in Paris, gifts floating down beneath tiny parachutes.

The Pole-to-Pole Express, humorously styled like a festive Amazon-style truck, races from the Australian Outback to the African Serengeti, from Mexico to Istanbul, delivering laughter and wonder all around the globe. I also loved the thoughtful extras — the discussion guide and a scroll-style page that invites kids to write to Santa with a humorous signed oath, declaring they’ve been a wonderful child and deserve a spot on the Nice List. The QR code lets readers download the song Santa’s 18-Wheel Chrome-and-Steel Sleigh to follow along as Santa and the reindeer perform it. It’s interactive, creative, and so much fun for families to experience together.

This book celebrates everything that makes the season special — imagination, laughter, and the joy of believing — all delivered with a pair of shades and a guitar.
