I enjoyed Valentine’s alone this year 🙂

Valentine’s Day looks different depending on where you land. In Japan, women traditionally give chocolate on February 14, and a month later, men return the gesture on White Day. In Finland, February 14 is Ystävänpäivä, a celebration of friendship rather than romance. In South Korea, couples mark multiple love-themed days throughout the year, including Black Day in April, when singles gather to eat black noodles.

In Denmark, admirers send pressed white flowers called snowdrops and playful anonymous poems known as ‘gaekkebrev’. In the Philippines, thousands of couples participate in government-sponsored mass weddings. In Wales, January brings Saint Dwynwen’s Day, when intricately carved wooden love spoons are exchanged as tokens of affection.
