Garden quiche: recipe here.

The spring equinox marks the moment when day and night are nearly equal, signaling the start of spring in the Northern Hemisphere. It usually falls around March 20, when the sun sits directly above the equator.

Around the world, this point of balance has long been celebrated. In Iran and across Central AsiaNowruz marks the Persian New Year with food, family gatherings, and symbolic tables of renewal. In Japan, people observe Shunbun no Hi, visiting family graves and welcoming the season of cherry blossoms. In Mexico, crowds gather at ancient sites like Chichén Itzá to watch the “serpent” shadow appear along the pyramid steps. In parts of Europe, traditions like egg decorating and seasonal festivals reflect themes of fertility and new life.

Across cultures, the message is the same—a reset, a return, and a quiet beginning again.
