Built around 1901 by John T. Brackenridge, part of a prominent San Antonio family

Today I’m writing about a cute B&B in San Antonio, Texas—one I found while I was there for a wedding. It wasn’t something I planned, just a last-minute choice that turned out to be a really good one. I’m sharing it because it’s genuinely charming and one of those places that stays with you.

For my Texas readers, it’s worth bookmarking—especially if you want something with more personality than a standard hotel.

Brackenridge House Bed & Breakfast is in the King William Historic District, one of San Antonio’s oldest neighborhoods, dating to the mid-1800s and shaped by German immigrants. Named after King Wilhelm I of Prussia, it was once called “Sauerkraut Bend.” The area also has a slightly eerie reputation, with old homes and river proximity giving rise to local ghost stories.
