Jeffrey’s Bay, South Africa, is a small seaside town just outside of Port Elizabeth in Nelson Mandela Bay. It’s where the Billabong Pro Surf Competition takes place every year. It’s small and I love the friendly people and salty sea breeze. We shot an unusual animal sanctuary there, Africa Dawn Wildlife & Bird Sanctuary. Africa is full of beautiful animals and this sanctuary is a divine tourist stop. The park is home to animals exclusively from our soil. These include Cheetah, Servals, Lynx, Squirrels, Marmosets, Squirrels, Monkeys, Blue, Common Duikers, Bushbok, Grysbok, Meerkats, Wallabies and a Crocodile. They also have over 250 species of birds indigenous to South Africa in the largest Aviary in the Eastern Cape! You can listen to the calls of birds such as the Knysna Loerie, the Laughing Dove and the vibrant Red Bishop. Other birds around the park include the majestic Black Eagle, Blue Cranes, Crowned Cranes, Hornbills, Emu, Lorikeets and Macaws. Check out the video to get a glimpse into what we have to offer here in this pocket of the world.
