Chart Farm Constantia

This past weekend my friend Nox and I went to the what must be one of the most beautiful places in Cape Town. It’s a rose-picking farm called “Chart Farm”. It’s a tea garden serving teas, coffees, light lunches and sweet treats. It also happens to lie alongside a gorgeous rose farm – rows and rows of delicious wild roses in every colour imaginable. What a treat!

I had a savoury crepe for lunch and it was super good, I recommend if you go there you have it!

You can either buy roses which are ready picked, or you can get a bucket and venture out yourself. Usually it’s R4 a rose, but on Sundays it’s half price. Situated centrally near Wynberg Park in Cape Town, Chart Farm offers a farm-style retreat from the city. As the only place in the Cape Peninsula where you can select and pick your own roses, Chart Farm offers a unique experience for visitors. The Coffee Terrace serves teas, cakes, breakfasts and lunches, and with magnificant views of the Constantia valley is a great meeting place. After you pick your roses you go back to the booth to pay. My bunch came to R12 – 6 wild roses, absolutely worth every penny. It’s a great way to bring some magic into your week, and it doesn’t break the bank! For more info visit their website: http://www.chartfarm.co.za
