Grave of Margaret Mitchell, author of “Gone With The Wind” at Oakland Cemetery in Atlanta, Georgia

3 Things I love this June

  1. This blog called “I am not a stalker” by a woman who writes about famous film locations such as Marilyn Monroe spots
  2. This instagram feed by a gemstone lover and self-proclaimed “crystal temptress”
  3. The documentary on Netflix called “Diana: In Her Own Words” (watch it, now.)

On Oakland Cemetery

One great thing about travel is that you get to do things you don’t ordinarily do. I would never go to a cemetery in my home town for fun but somehow when I travel I tend to go to cemeteries, especially in big cities where famous people were laid to rest. I become a history buff all over again. One such place is in Atlanta, Georgia, and this one named “Oakland Cemetery” is where iconic write Margaret Mitchell is buried. She wrote “Gone With The Wind”. See Margaret Mitchell’s house. I found the cemetery quite lovely and quiet, very peaceful. It was well manicured and I loved looking around at the old grave stones.

One response to “Oakland Cemetery Atlanta”

  1. […] I also find it fascinating visiting cemeteries and graveyards in different cities – the most memorable being where Margaret Mitchell (author of Gone With The Wind) is buried in Atlanta. See pictures here of her tombstone. […]
