The Hout Bay Market

I love visiting markets. I’ve been to two well-known markets here in Cape Town, and yesterday marked the third. The Hout Bay Market in Hout Bay – a coastal suburb in a valley along the Atlantic Seaboard of the Cape Peninsula – hosts a lovely organic food market every weekend. They also have arts & crafts. I won’t lie it’s a bit of a drive. I travelled with three crazy friends which was great for me because the drive was so long but felt like five minutes with the crew I was with. I enjoyed the festive atmosphere and the seafood.

  1. Markets are always my holiday highlight – they say so much about a place. This one looks brilliant and I’ll be sure to pop by if I ever end up in Cape Town.
If you’re ever in Riga, the Central Market is one of my favourite places in the world. In Edinburgh, try the Flea Market at Out of the Blue Drill Hall.

    1. Awesome! Thank you for the suggestion, I definitely will:):)
